eGovernment for Bangladesh
A Strategic Pathway to Success

This strategic pathway has arisen from four years of ongoing academic research and an applied research project. The pathway offers strategic initiatives to guide the adoption of e‐government in Bangladesh effectively.  It also has significant potential to address some of the entrenched problems in the public sector environment of other least developed countries. The strategy identifies the underlying issues and causes that need to be addressed before taking up the infrastructure and technological solutions.   A key strategy outlined in this book is the capacity building activities that will address the ICT knowledge gap that is seen to be the underlying cause of many of the other problems that are interfering with ICT adoption in Bangladesh. The strategic pathway is evidence that practical application of an academic study has considerable benefits for both researchers and practitioners. It bridges the divide between academia and the community and it enhances overall outcomes. This book is primarily targeted at policy makers and future leaders of Bangladesh in planning and implementing e-government.
